A friend of mine got the DVD in Japanese recently. He ripped it for me and I found a subtitle file. Still quite amazing. Aack! So jealous! I have two versions. The .avi file (from the DVD) and the .mkv (from the Blu-Ray) I was able to burn the DVD file to a DVD and pop it in to watch it on the 50" Plasma TV in my room. It's epic. And just where did you find the whole movie?

My daughter went with some friends to the midnight showing- the film promptly broke just as the title sequence was ending, and it took the theatre staff until almost 1:30 to fix it (and they still lost the first 10 minutes of the movie). She got home around 4:00 A.M. (with a voucher for a free movie in future, of course). And she had forgotten her keys, so I had to get up and let her in, after having stayed up until about 12:30 before she called to let me now about the screwup. And my dog got sick at around 5:00. My alarm goes off at 5:45. Coffee is the best thing EVER. |

I saw it this morning and I was happy about a couple of non-spoilery things.
1. During the end battle they left corpses of students and death eaters all around. I thought they might sanitize it but they did not.
2. I liked the post script they filmed when the characters are older. It's poor compensation for not getting the Scouring of the Shire but at least it ended on a good note.
Fun and I think the first movie I've seen in 3d that did a decent job of it.

Captain America: The First Avenger... in a word, Perfect!... in a few more, they captured the Spirit of who and what Captain America is supposed to be to a T... (at least in my little world)... They spent the right amount of time on the character of the Captain before he became the Captain. Fun and smart at the same time. |

Just watched Space Battleship Yamato (live action star blazers) Wonderful. seriously loved it! they kept to most of the important stuff but I understood they had to do some serious rewriting cramming an entire series into a two hour movie but I think they pulled it off well.
